What’s your name and role at ListenLoveLearn?
My name is Callum! I am a teacher of Piano, Vocals and Ukulele!
What age were you when you first started learning to play?
An interesting question… I’ve been singing as long as I can remember.
I started learning piano at 11yrs.
I didn’t even pick up a Ukulele until I was at university,
but since then I’ve found that I could rarely put the thing down!
It’s just so portable and fun! 🤩
Is there a particular song that you’re often asked by students to teach that gets stuck in your head?
If so, what is it?
There are a few regulars pieces I get asked to teach,
one of which being “Wake me up when September ends” by Green Day…
it’s a beautiful and emotive piece of music that makes me feel very nostalgic every time I hear it!
The other song that I’m pretty fond of is “Lava” featured in Disney’s film Moana,
I’ve found it’s a great Ukulele piece for beginners!
What are your thoughts on Cheesecake… is it really a cake or a pie?
Cake. That is all!
Is there something that everyone else seems to be able to do easily
that you secretly (ssssh!) find really difficult?
Read, as I am dyslexic!
